First week in Malaysia!!
We departed from Georgia on Monday, October 6th and arrived on Wednesday October 9th. Travel day included a 13 hour flight to Qatar, a three hour layover, then a 7 hour flight to Malaysia. Malaysia is 12 hours ahead of Georgia, so that has been interesting when trying to communicate back home. I only text and call on wifi which is the middle of the day for me and the middle of the night for you. We are sleeping on our sleeping pads in the church that is hosting us, which training camp prepared us for with the scenarios!! Which I am so grateful for, because it didn’t feel like a big deal that we would be sleeping on the floor for the next 40 days. Our room is air conditioned, which is so rare in Malaysia. We are actually so spoiled and blessed to have AC. Our hosts are the kindest people ever. PT, or Pastor Thomas has been so kind to us. Like insists on driving us everywhere because he wants to fellowship with us, taking us to his favorite Chinese food court, showing us to the local mall to get coffee and internet, etc. We attended our first church service on Friday night. It started at 8 pm and did not end until the very early hours of the morning. The worship was absolutely beautiful and the message was entirely in Malay. Tomorrow, Monday, October 13th, we start our ministry! We will be teaching English and mathematics to refuge students who cannot attend school in Malaysia. They are all muslim students, however, it is illegal to evangelize, or convert, in Malaysia so we can’t directly share the gospel with these students. We will be sharing the love of Christ through actions. Pastor Thomas has been teaching the students verses from scripture without stating that it is from the Bible, so the students do have the word of God in their minds. Please pray for these students and our ministry as we begin!! Additionally, there is a community center in the slum section of Sungai Petani where some residents hang out on Monday nights, majority of which are Hindu Indians. So we will be joining them as well! I am so excited to see how God is working in Malaysia!

So sorry if this blog is all over the place. My week is very chaotic but I wanted to give something to you all back home! Please let me know if you have any questions!! Love you all!
